Sometimes kitchen scissors end up sitting in a drawer when they could be used in a variety of tasks. They can take the place of several other cooking utensils and produce better results. A pair of kitchen scissors can be one of the most useful tools in your home. Here's a few ways to put kitchen scissors to good use.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put away the cutting board and snip vegetables including lettuce, celery, green beans, pea pods and spinach. Use kitchen scissors and forget about cleaning the cutting board and the transference of harmful bacteria.

  2. Step 2

Slice your pizza without hassle. Use a kitchen scissors to cut just the right size pieces of pizza. This works with a thin crust, best.

  3. Step 3

Use the kitchen scissors to cut through meats including steak, bacon, ham, pork chops, and hot dogs. Cut through chicken breasts for nuggets and strips. A stir-fry is simple to create, just cut steak into strips, snip pea pods, spinach and green onions. Cook rice and add any other vegetables you desire.

  4. Step 4

Try cutting cheese cubes with your kitchen scissors. Most scissors have extra long blades for easier cutting.

  5. Step 5

Cut herbs, dried fruits and vegetables or any other dry ingredients that need to be sliced, minced or clipped.

  6. Step 6

Find special kitchen scissors with blades that come apart for easy and thorough cleaning.
