Kindness is such a basic human act that many of us don't even think to exercise it every day. Being nice to others around us requires no extra effort and is so easy everyone can do it. Remember to be kind through following these simple steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Smile at anyone you come into contact with during the course of the day including strangers. A smile shows friendliness and allows others to open up around you.
Step2
Be positive. When speaking and dealing with others use positive language and tone of voice. Instead of calling names, cursing and shouting to get your point across kindness ensures that others listen.
Step3
Compliment others. Boost the spirit of others by praising them. Be sincere. Model healthy interactions by raising the opinion people hold of themselves. It also makes you feel better about people.
Step4
Listen carefully to feelings expressed by those you come in contact with on a daily basis. Be nice and open your ears and hear what others are trying to say to you. Make eye contact as they talk. Try to understand the points they make instead of interrupting them.
Step5
Say thank you. Let others know that you appreciate the little things they do that often go ignored. Send a thank you card for services rendered and leave a generous tip for a waiter.
Step6
Use correct social courtesies. People who practice kindness can do so by such actions like remembering to hold a door open for an elderly person. Brush up on other proper behaviors to use when interacting in the community.
Step7
Help someone for no reason. Kindness involves stepping outside what's comfortable for you and requires genuine sacrifice. Go out of your way to deliver assistance to someone when you won't receive anything in return.
Step8
Be nice every day. The easiest way to spread kindness is to use it every day; it quickly spreads and comes back to you.
