How to Be Spontaneous

Living by your palm pilot or by a calendar can become both stressful and mundane. Adding a little spontaneity to your life can make you feel more alive. Break free from your well-planned life and take some time to act on a whim. Here are some great ways to be spontaneous.

1. Do something nice for someone else. Buy flowers or candy for someone who wouldn't expect it. Don't wait for a holiday, anniversary or birthday. Just do it and surprise them.

2. Treat yourself whenever you feel like it. Go get a massage or a pedicure just for fun. You deserve it.

3. Throw together a last minute weekend vacation. Check for special prices on flights or hotels and book it. You can be spontaneous and save money on a vacation at the same time since most flights and hotels offer great last minute deals.

4. Free up some time in your busy schedule for an afternoon off. Spend the time doing whatever you want. Catch a movie or go shopping. Bring a friend along to enjoy your no plans afternoon with you.

5. Play with your kids. Simply play with them instead of doing the laundry or dishes.

6. Dine alone or catch a movie alone. You don't have to fight over where to eat or what movie to see. The choice is yours. Have fun just being spontaneous.
