How to Start a Singles Bible Study

Small groups offer intimate settings where a group of people can come together and learn more about the bible. Some groups work well when they're open to everyone. But you might find more growth if you group people together according to their situations. Singles can usually relate to each other well. If you want to start a singles group, there are a few things you should do.

1. Pray. Your group will be blessed if your motives are pure. And prayer is one of the best ways to keep your intentions in check. Pray that God keep your direction clear and that He bring you the singles who need to hear His word.

2. Find a leader for yourself. It's easy to become discouraged and overwhelmed when you're leading a group of peers. But when you set up a support system for yourself, you're more likely to stay on course.

3. Talk to a small group of people and see if they're interested. You'll be more motivated because you know they're eager to learn more about the Bible. And this gives them a good opportunity to share any insight they may have.

4. Decide on a format. You should determine when, where, and how often the singles group will meet. And it's best to have a plan that details what you will be studying over the coming weeks.

5. Get to know each other during the first meeting. You might all sit down for dinner together, or you can play some fun games. When your group feels comfortable with each other, they'll feel more comfortable allowing the Holy Spirit to work with them during this group.
