How to Cross-Stitch With Beads
Cross-stitching is a form of embroidery where stitches shaped like "X's" are used to make patterns and pictures. Adding beads to a cross-stitch is a simple project but does require patience and coordination. Add beads to your cross-stitch pattern to give depth and style to your piece.

1
Purchase your seed beads in the colors of the floss used in your cross-stitch project. Seed beads are the easiest beads to add to a cross-stitch project, Purchase them at any craft store or at most stores with a craft section.
-
2
Follow the directions in your cross-stitch project to begin working. When you get to an area you want to bead, choose a colored bead that matches the floss you are using.
-
-
3
Make a half-stitch by pulling the needle up from the bottom of the project. Add the bead to the needle and floss. Slide the bead to the bottom of the floss. Push the needle back into the fabric.
-
4
Add the second half of the cross-stitch in the opposite direction. Add a bead as before and place the needle back into the fabric to finish the stitch.
-
5
Continue this way to add all of the beads to the cross-stitch. Be sure to tie off the floss when you are finished adding beads to a section of your project.

Sounds like a good idea.. As soon as I'm done with the x-stitch I'm working on, I'll try a smaller project with some beads in it! :o)
