Everything needs to be cleaned. Something that is usually overlooked is a comb. Cleaning a comb can be time consuming but since it will help to keep your hair cleaner, you need to do it every now and then. The more often you clean your comb the easier the task will become. The following will help you learn how to clean a comb.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Run warm water. Wet your comb by putting it under the warm water.
Step2
Get your brush and wet that also. Add some shampoo to your brush and use the brush to clean the comb.
Step3
Rub the brush bristles against the comb in one direction only for the best results.
Step4
Continue rubbing the brush against the comb as you keep them under the warm water, until all the suds are gone.
Step5
Dry the comb. Let it air dry on a towel.
Step6
Add some white vinegar to the warm water and let your comb soak in it. This is an alternative to using shampoo. This will not only clean your comb but will get rid of any oily deposits you have left on your comb.
Step7
Use a toothbrush. Another alternative is to use an old toothbrush to clean your comb. Just put a little soap or shampoo on the toothbrush and use it to clean the comb.
Step8
Try using your dishwasher or washing machine. There is supported documentation that says you can use your dishwasher or washing machine to clean your comb.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rather than throwing your comb away when it gets dirty, try cleaning it.
  • Clean your comb before you wash your hair, this way you are not putting dirt back into your hair.
