You can use glue for numerous things. It is a great way to fix things that are broken. However, you need to be careful that you don't glue yourself. This can be painful. Children also need to be supervised when using glue. It is sometimes easy to glue the wrong thing. The following will help you to use glue.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Glue

Step1
Buy glue. The best glue around is the brush on glue. This is easy to use and makes using it in the wrong place difficult. Alternatively, the glue that you turn over and rub on the items is a good glue to use.
Step2
Figure out what you need the glue for. Possibly, you have broken a plate or want to put up a light fixture in a place where it needs something besides nails.
Step3
Work in an area where you don't have to worry about spills. You could make a table glue-safe by covering it with newspaper or a plastic canvas. However, you should be prepared for spills, just in case they happen.
Step4
Apply the glue to the area that needs to be put back together. If you have chipped a plate and have the piece, you would apply the glue to the piece. Then you need to hold the pieces together to give the glue a chance to dry. Release the pressure to see if the pieces will stay together, if not and the glue seems to be dry apply more glue.
Step5
Help children with school projects using glue. They may need to cut articles out of a magazine and glue them into a collage for an art project for school. You should only help in the area they need help. Elmer's glue is pretty easy for children to manage on their own.
Step6
Brush on glue can be used on most surfaces, especially fingernails. This is one of the easiest methods of saving a fingernail, but be careful not to glue your fingers together.

Tips & Warnings

  • Nail polish remover is helpful for removing glue.
  • Teach you children to cover work areas before using glue.
  • Wearing gloves can prevent gluing your fingers.
