I Did This Rate: (0 Ratings)

Sloog is a great piece of software that will help you keep track of all the cool places that you discover in your wanderings in the fascinating world of Second Life. If you find that Second Life's search system isn't quite to your liking and you have too many landmarks in your inventory, Sloog can make your Second Life travels a bit easier. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Sign into your Second Life account and teleport yourself to Mosi-Mosi. Locate a Sloog kiosk and click. You will receive an informational notecard and a pop-up dialog that will present you with the Sloog HUD. Accept the HUD into your inventory and select "Wear."
Step2
Start slooging after you see the welcome message in the chat line and a green window at the top left area of your screen.
Step3
Click the "Lock" icon on the green area to set your Sloog to privacy mode, if you don't want other people to see your bookmarks. You can set this for each individual bookmark. However, if you want to interact with other people and share your cool places with people who might have similar interests, leave your bookmarks in public mode.
Step4
Click the "House" icon on the green area to go to your personal slog page. Once you get there, you can manage your bookmarks.
Step5
Save a cool place to a bookmark by typing ":/7 tag:" After the command, type keywords that will remind you of that place, such as "beautiful sunset," or "ballroom dancing." You will receive a message confirming your action.
Step6
Type "/7 search:" followed by your search keywords if you want to search for a location.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't worry if you receive a error message saying "Page Not Found." As soon as you tag your first location, the message will disappear and you will be directed to the web page.
