Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the Adobe webpage and press "Get Adobe Flash Player."

  2. Step 2

Choose to download the .tar.gz file or .rpm file, depending on the type of file you want loaded onto you computer: the .tar.gz file consists of compressed data to save disk space while the .rpm file is not. The .tar.gz file runs the risk of suffering a corruption of information within it because it is compressed. However, the .tar.gz file is a good one-size-fits-all file for several systems.

  3. Step 3

Save the .tar.gz file to your preferred location on the computer. The desktop is one if the safest, surest locations to place the downloaded file.

  4. Step 4

    Open the .tar.gz packaged file.

  5. Step 5

Find the directory that reads: install_flash_player_9_linux.

  6. Step 6

Use a script to download the plug-in to the computer. Type into the box the following: ./flashplayer-installer. Press Enter. To download and install the .rpm file, type in :# rpm -Uvh .rpm_package_file. You must enter this as a root user.

  7. Step 7

    Close all Internet windows.

  8. Step 8

Ensure that the download was successful by starting your browser and going to the Help option, then on to the About Plug-ins option.
