How to Change a Shutdown Screen

It's relatively easy to customize your computer. You can install new hardware, add or remove programs, change how your screen looks--just to name a few. Your shut down screen can also be customized. You can change it from the classic Windows shut down screen with a few clicks. Instead, it can resemble a desert, a rainy day or show your patriotism. Here are some simple steps to customize your computer.

Instructions

1. Click on your start menu on the bottom left of the computer screen. Click control panel and select user accounts in the right column.

2. Choose one of two options: buttons or a drop down menu. This will alter the way your shut down screen looks.

3. Change the colors of the shut down screen by right clicking on your desktop. When the box pops up, left click on properties.

4. Play around with the options. You can change themes, for example Windows classic or Windows XP, and change the appearance. You're given a choice among several colors, including plum, pumpkin and eggplant. Choose whichever strikes your fancy.

5. Purchase or download start-up/shut-down software. There are several options on the market.

6. Use the help option on your computer. The support feature is specifically designed to address problems with your PC. Use it as a resource.
