How to Use the ARC Triangle Every Day
People try to understand themselves and others everyday of their lives. There is a triangle in Scientology called the ARC triangle to aid people in accomplishing this. This tool gives one the ability to provide more understanding about himself, others and life in general, as described in these steps.

1
Understand the "A" in the ARC triangle. "A" stands for affinity; it is the first corner of the triangle. Affinity means "the consideration of distance whether good or bad." Complete affinity means the ability to occupy the same space with something or someone else. Love, like or other attitudes of emotion apply.
-
2
Define the next corner of the triangle, which is "R" for reality--"that which appears to be." Reality is agreement.
-
-
3
Use the third corner--"C"--with affinity and reality. That corner is stands for communication. "C" is more important than the other two. Communication is the solvent for all things. If you don't have communication, you can't express reality, thus you can't have agreement; so there is no affinity. Communication raises the other two corners.
-
4
Apply ARC to have understanding. If you want to understand someone better, apply communication by exchanging ideas with that person to get her reality on life. Once you two share communication and reality, affinity will follow suit, and you have understanding--its inevitable.

Tips & Warnings
Affinity, reality and communication rely on each other to keep the understanding strong in everyday use. If one corner drops, the other two corners drop. If one corner rises, the other two corners rise.
Try just communicating with someone to find out who they are and what is real to them. Share your ideas with her, and the next thing you know you have affinity and then understanding.
Notice how you talk with some people who appear angry. They have a very solid affinity toward life. They are hard to talk to because they disagree (no reality) with a lot of people.
Notice how you talk with some people who are happy or content. They have a light affinity towards life. They are easy to talk to because they agree (reality) with a lot of people.
