This article does not cover repair of compound bows. The advice is bad. Many common lubricants can damage modern bows as they contain solvents. Most repairs should be done by a trained bow technician as the improper use of bow presses could damage the bow. Many types of cracks in the limbs cannot be seen without the bow being disassembled. -

Don't attempt to disassemble a bow or remove the string or cables from a compound bow without the appropriate type of bow press. You are asking for lots of problems and physical pain if you try to do so otherwise.
