You can use scent eliminators to erase your smell from the woods when you're hunting. Eliminate as many human odors as possible before you head out to the woods. When you use a scent eliminator in conjunction with scent lures and calls, you can substantially increase your odds of bringing in a nice buck.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Shower with scent elimination soap. Use a smell absorber under the arms, such as baking soda. Baking soda and water can be used to wet down your hair and rinse your mouth. Your local sports store should have a variety of scent eliminator soaps, wipes, sprays and laundry soaps. Which you choose is a matter of personal preference.
Step2
Wash all hunting clothes with scent eliminators several times before wearing into the woods. Allow your hunting clothes to air dry in the sun if at all possible. Carry a scent eliminator to your stand, and use it again if you break a sweat while entering the woods.
Step3
Apply scent eliminators to your hunting equipment, including seats, tree stand, fanny pack, seats, boots and urine bottles.
Step4
Consider using a scent eliminator in the vehicle you are going to use to get to your favorite hunting spot. It doesn't make sense to go to such lengths to clean your scent, only to sit in a truck or car with a strong human smell.

Tips & Warnings

  • No matter how good a job you do in eliminating your scent, you still need a cover scent to diffuse human odor, as deer have an extraordinary sense of smell.
