How to Take a Princess Cruise

Princess Cruises, with a fleet of 17 ships, sails throughout the world, including regular cruises in Alaska, Europe, Tahiti, the Caribbean and Mexico. The line is perhaps best known as the cruise line featured in the popular 1970's television series, "The Love Boat." Today, Princess Cruises retains that friendly atmosphere, but has added new ships and many on-board amenities. Some unique features of Princess Cruises are highlighted below.

1. Watch a movie on the outsize big-screen TV. One of Princess Cruises signature features is the large jumbo-tron screen, located above the main pool area. A variety of programs are broadcast throughout the day, including the popular after-dinner, "Movies under the Stars."
2. Reserve a balcony cabin. Princess Cruises is known for its large number of cabins with private balconies. Your own balcony is a great place to read a book, relax over breakfast or watch the scenery pass by.
3. Relax in the "Sanctuary." The "Sanctuary" is an adults-only, quiet place to escape the myriad of activities and bustle of the main pool and deck area. Here, you can enjoy massages, light refreshments, healthy drinks and a soothing, peaceful, spa-like environment.
4. Learn to dive in the "New Waves" program. Princess Cruises' "New Waves" program offers full P.A.D.I. scuba instruction and certification as well as snorkeling lessons. Classes are held on-board and augmented with shore excursions.
5. Participate in the "Scholarship at Sea" program. Princess offers an interactive educational program on each of its ships. Guests may choose from up to 40 different classes, with subjects ranging from culinary arts to Internet basics to watercolor painting. All classes and lectures are free.
