Ask your physician about Mirapex and whether it is appropriate to treat your fibromyalgia symptoms. Mirapex was originally given to Parkinson's patients, but has shown promise in helping people with Fibromyalgia live a more normal pain free life. As with all prescription medications, Mirapex has potential side effects you should ask your doctor about.

Get a massage to ease fibromyalgia pain. Massage induces muscle relaxation. There are a number of reasons why people try massage therapy, including relaxation, increased flexibility, and pain relief. Some forms of massage are more aggressive than others; when using massage therapy to treat fibromyalgia pain, take care that the massage does not create more problems. In this case, pain is not gain.

    • 3

Exercise to ease fibromyalgia pain. Stretching and warm pool therapy have been shown to help decrease pain. You must be careful not to overdo it, though. If you strain your muscles they will become more painful. Very low impact is recommended.

    • 4

Change your diet. Some fibromyalgia patients report a reduction in pain when they eliminated allergens from their diet. Common foods associated with fibromyalgia pain include corn, wheat, dairy, citrus, soy and nuts. Within a few weeks of eliminating the suspected allergen patients reported a decrease in fatigue, headaches, heartburn and breathing problems.

    • 5

Evaluate your lifestyle. It is documented that in as many as a quarter of patients, life stress is a significant contributor to fibromyalgia pain. Watch your sleeping habits as well.
