An estimated 500,000 individuals live with Cerebral Palsy. While the severity and type of impairment varies from one individual to the next, many of the trials and tribulations of everyday life are the same. Family and friends provide a great wealth of support to individuals with Cerebral Palsy.   3. Step 3

    Visit the United Cerebral Palsy website. The UCP website is extensive and offers resources to assist you in finding support in your local area. Find additional resources and support groups for those living with Cerebral Palsy at the Mental Help website.

  4. Step 4

    Keep all doctor appointments and follow the advice of your physician or specialist as closely as possible. If one of your medications or treatments is not working out for you, discuss alternatives with your health care provider before terminating treatment.

  5. Step 5

    Consult with your doctor and investigate alternative healthcare solutions. Massage therapy and yoga may offer some relief to those with muscle tension and stiffness as well as provide alleviation of various other symptoms.
