Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Choose a gas furnace that will meet your needs. Determine the size of the area that needs heating. Is it a large room or a small one? The size of the area that needs to heated will determine the size of the gas wall furnace.
Step2
Be careful to install the gas wall furnace as the manual specifies. Keep the necessary space between the furnace and the wall, and install the furnace by attaching it to a metal plate on the wall.
Step3
Install the wall furnace on the inside of an exterior wall. The vent cap must be flush to the exterior wall. Mount your furnace between the studs. Make sure the cut through the wall for the installation of the vent for the gas heater is level. You do not want rain or any moisture driven into the hole and down into the furnace where it could possibly corrode the furnace.
Step4
Do not hook up the connections for the gas pipes yourself. This must be done by a professional. You can find gas technicians in the phone book or by asking for references from neighbors or building supply store.
