How to Tie a Bandanna Into a Headband

I Did This Rate: (2 Ratings)

Tying a bandanna into a headband is simple. Bandanna headbands offer a unique look, by allowing the choice of bandanna color and print. It also provides a custom fit, since it is tied on the person's head who will be wearing it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Figure out how wide the headband should be. Usually bandanna headbands are between two and two-and-a-half inches wide.
Step2
Fold the bandanna several times on the diagonal. Folding on the diagonal makes the bandanna as long as possible. Start by folding the bandanna in half diagonally, then start folding from the bottom towards the widest part. Keep the desired width in mind so that it doesn't get too large.
Step3
Wrap the bandanna around the head. Center the bandanna where it will be worn on the head. Then pull the ends so that they meet at the nape of the neck.
Step4
Secure the bandanna with a square knot. A square knot is a secure knot that is also easy to untie. It is accomplished by tying the left hand side over the right hand side, then doing the opposite. It is also possible to start with the right hand side as long as the next tie is with the left side. Make sure it is tied tight enough that it won't fall off.
Step5
Style hair. Hair can be pulled up into a ponytail or left down. Another stylish option is to pull some hair out to frame the face from the bangs.
