Adding an LCD screen to a poker table help to keep the tally if you are holding a poker tournament or just playing cards with friends. An LCD screen is a flat screen monitor for a computer. Install this LCD screen in 30 minutes to one hour.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Poker table
  • Measuring tape
  • Flat LCD computer screen
  • 1-inch wood molding
  • Wood glue
  • Jigsaw
  • Acrylic glass measured to the size of the LCD screen
  • Drill
  • Plywood measured 1 inch wider than the LCD screen
  • Small wood screws
  • Screwdriver
  • Computer tower or laptop
  • Wireless mouse and keyboard
Step1
Measure the LCD screen. Make a wood frame around the outside of the screen with the molding. Glue the molding together with wood glue to hold the frame in place.
Step2
Mark the size of the screen on the poker table. Cut a hole into the poker table with the jigsaw by following the marks. The frame needs to fit securely into the table.
Step3
Turn the table upside down. Slide the frame into the hole in the table. Place wood glue around the edges and along the bottom to hold it in place. Insert the acrylic glass into the frame.
Step4
Lay the LCD screen face down into the hole so it lays on top of the glass. Measure the locations of the power and computer cords on the back of the LCD screen.
Step5
Drill holes into the plywood, where the cords need to come out the bottom of the table. Keep in mind the plywood is one inch larger around the sides than the screen itself.
Step6
Feed the cords through the holes in the plywood and place the plywood flush with the bottom of the table. Mount the plywood to the table with the wood screws. Secure one screw into each corner.
Step7
Connect the computer, wireless mouse and keyboard. This allows you to use your poker table and LCD screen simultaneously.

on 8/31/2008 How about checking out this Instructable, created more than a year ago for how to put an LCD in Poker table. With MUCH more explanation, MUCH more step-by-step pictures, and an overall better outcome than what is explained above.

on 8/31/2008 Have you tried this? I'm confused about your design / instructions keep the felt from moving once you've cut a hole in it, without resecuring it around the newly cut edge?

Also, do you intend for the screen to be flush with the felt surface afterward, or remain sticking up above the play area?
