Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ask a school band teacher if he knows a flute instructor who gives private lessons. Find out if anyone teaching music or band at local junior highs or high schools gives lessons and find a flute teacher.

  2. Step 2

Check with music departments of local colleges and universities. Get in touch with college students majoring in music, especially graduate students, who teach flute or are willing to give you lessons. Ask college music instructors for help to find a flute teacher.

  3. Step 3

Contact your local orchestra or symphony organization and inquire about flute lessons. Discover that often professional musicians give private music lessons.

  4. Step 4

Look in the local newspapers, especially entertainment and lifestyle or alternative papers, to find a flute teacher. Know that plenty of music teachers advertise in their local newspapers.

  5. Step 5

Get online to find musicians who teach flute. Discover flute instructors on classified sites, such as Craigslist. Look under "Lessons & Tutoring" for your city or town. Find phone numbers for local instructors on private websites. Contact instructors to set up lessons, or if they're not in your area, ask if they know of instructors in your area or near you who teach flute.
