How to Make Wheat Germ Muffins

Wheat germ muffins are making a comeback thanks in part to Starbucks and other coffee houses including them on their menus. But you can make them at home for a fraction of what you will pay at a coffee house. Store them properly and you could enjoy these tasty treats with coffee for days. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 Cups soy milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 6 Tbsp. honey
  • 6 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Cups wheat germ
  • 2 Cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • Foil muffin wrappers

Instructions

      Turn your oven on and preheat it to 350 degrees.

      Combine the milk, eggs, honey, olive oil and wheat germ together in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.

      Mix the flour, salt and baking powder together in another bowl.

      Take the new flour mixture and add it to the wheat germ mix. Stir together until mixed very well.

      Add the foil muffin wrappers to your muffin tins or grease your muffin tins.

      Fill the muffin tins 3/4 of the way full.

      Put in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

      Insert a toothpick into the middle of the muffin. If it comes out clean, it is cooked.
