How to Play Alchemy
Alchemy is a fun and addictive game that you can find on a number of online game sites. It has simple rules but it quickly increases in difficulty. One of the nice things about Alchemy is that it's not timed so you have plenty of time to work out your moves and overall strategy. The point of the game is to turn the entire surface of the field to gold. You do this by completing full lines of runes (a line of symbols that go from one side of the board to the other).

1
Find a site offering Alchemy. Most gaming sites will allow you to play online free, and some will allow you to download the game for a small fee. Choose whichever version suits you the best, as they all play the same.
-
2
Choose your skill level on the left-hand side of the screen. Even at the easiest level, the game can easily overwhelm a new player, so choose carefully.

3
Examine the game board. The board is a large grid surface with a gray square in the middle. The gray square is a Universal Block; it can have any rune of any color and symbol placed next to it.
-
4
Place runes on the board as they come up; you can put color next to color and symbol next to symbol. It is important that you begin to think of a basic strategy for placement. Without one you will become overwhelmed easily.
-
5
Create a full line from one side of the board to the other. The symbols will disappear and then replaced with a gold line. This gold surface can still hold new runes to help complete other lines.
-
6
Discard any block that you can't use by using the area on the left. You can only discard three blocks before the area fills up. Each time you successfully place a block, it will remove one of your discards.
-
7
Pay special attention to the special blocks that come up: gray Universal Blocks and Bombs. The Universal Block works just like the block at the beginning, and a Bomb will destroy a single block. The proper placement of these special blocks can make or break a game.
