Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cards
  • Envelopes
  • Stamps
  1. Step 1

Plan ahead. Write a list of people you want to send cards to this Christmas. Write their first and last names, addresses and postal codes. You must have the list ready for use so you don't have to search for postal information when you are ready to send the cards.

  2. Step 2

Buy a Christmas list book. These are little books that help you keep track of your Christmas cards. Write in the names and addresses of your family and friends. Place a check mark next to the name when you send the card. In some books, you can even keep track of who sends you cards. Now you can quickly send cards to each person on the list.

  3. Step 3

Use electronic cards or e-cards. You can pick an online card and with a few clicks, it's ready for mailing. Pick the date you want the card to arrive when you pick the card. Even if you forget to send the card until a day before Christmas, you can do it online and send it right away. You can even send all the cards at once.

  4. Step 4

Buy a regular sized box of cards so that you can buy a book of standard stamps. This saves you the time of getting special postage for irregular cards. Also, you can buy the cards all at once instead of taking the time to buy individual cards.

  5. Step 5

Add postal codes and stamps to each letter. If you want them sent quickly, you need to make sure the codes and stamps are on each card. Address each card clearly and accurately. You don't want them returned to you because the letter carrier can't read the address.

  6. Step 6

Write one or two Christmas cards a month. Put them aside in a safe place until late November or early December. Then mail them in time for Christmas. Get photos of the family taken in the early fall. Add one to each letter you write.

  7. Step 7

Have a card writing party. Invite your friends for a card day. Have everyone bring a snack. Sit around eating and writing cards. Or get the whole family involved. One person writes the cards, one addresses the envelope, one puts in the photo and letter, one adds stamps and another seals the envelopes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Double check your addresses.
