How to Write a Product Print Ad

Create an advertisement that will sell your product. You want potential customers to read your ad and want to buy what you are selling. You want an advertisement that convinces the reader that they need your product. Follow these tips to write a product print ad that attracts customers and sells your merchandise.

1. Catch the reader's attention on first glance. Create an attractive print ad that makes the reader want to know more. Use attractive fonts and a simple layout. Include product photos, your company name, your product name and your product description.
2. Use white space to create breaks between blocks of text. Readers feel overwhelmed when there appears to be too much writing. White space gives the illusion of fewer words on a page.
3. Use bold headings and subheadings that catch the reader's attention. Headings also break up the text on a page. Use short sentences or bulleted lists if you want to include a lot of information.
4. Describe the product accurately. Explain how your product will help the customer. Keep the description short and concise. List the benefits and what you are offering to the customer.
5. Use a conversational tone, like two friends talking. You are offering help or a solution to a problem.
6. Tell the reader what to do at the end of the ad. Ask them to contact you, order your product or visit your website. Make sure you provide a phone number, email address or website.
