1
Select a container for your memory box. If the items will be placed in storage, you may want to consider a plastic container with an airtight lid. If the memory box will be displayed, you may want to choose a cloth covered or wooden box.

2
Keep the little things. Small items like shoes, baptism candles or special infant mementos will fit well in the box. Try to select the most important things to keep. With babies, almost everything is small.

Take pictures of larger items. There are so many precious things that you may want to keep or remember from your baby's infant years, but large items are too bulky to put in a memory box. Take pictures of items like nursery furniture, stuffed animals and play toys and place them in an album with a description or memory you want to remember.

Use acid free albums to store important documents and pictures. Items like your baby's footprints, cards, hospital pictures and bracelet will stay organized and preserved in a good acid free album. You can include the pictures of items too large to fit in the box as well.
