Step 1
Brush your pet regularly. Regular brushing gets rid of most of the pet hair. Some pet owners are lucky enough to have pets that allow them to be vacuumed. Brushing also nourishes the skin, which results in healthier hair. A pet with healthy skin will not shed excessively.
-
Step 2
Go to the local hardware or packing store and buy a roll of packing tape. Wrap a strip of packing tape around your hand, sticky side out. Run your hand over your clothes or furniture to remove pet hair. The packing tape fits perfectly in your hand and because you've bought a roll of it, you'll always have a pet hair remover on hand.
-
Step 3
Place fabric softener sheets in a zip topped bag and put them in your car. A fabric softener sheet picks up loose pet hair very easily. Keep a zip top bag in your car for those clothing emergencies when going out or to a meeting. You should also keep them in your purse. They take up very little room.

Step 4
Dampen an old washcloth and wipe it over the upholstery to remove pet hair. The pet hair will form into a ball and becomes easy to remove. Use an old washcloth that has a rough texture for the best results.
-
Step 5
Put on a rubber glove or a surgical glove to remove pet hair. Dampen the glove and rub it over the fabric that has pet hair. The dampened glove causes the pet hair to clump together and makes it easier to remove.

Step 6
Buy a special pet hair removal sponge or cloth. The sponge is easily cleaned by rinsing and can be used over and over.
