Christmas would not be complete without twinkling lights decorating neighborhoods and city sidewalks. Inside, Christmas trees and candle centerpieces add more holiday cheer. Greet guests to your Christmas party with homemade Christmas luminaries. Add more soft lighting throughout your home with strands of mini Christmas lights. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Hang multi-colored or white Christmas lights from your roof or around windows.

    • 2

Decorate fence railings, stair banisters, window boxes and mail boxes with garlands of faux evergreen boughs. Purchase lighted faux greenery for a festive look both day and night.

    • 3

String Christmas lights around the perimeter of your dining room, kitchen, or even your bathroom, for some unexpected holiday lighting.

    • 4

Place red or white candles throughout your dining room or living room for a soft Christmas glow. Group several candles together on a mantle or table for a beautifully glowing centerpiece.

    • 5

Put candles inside votive holders and place the votive in red or green paper gift bags. Line your walkway with the bags and light each candle when it gets dark, for an unexpected welcome to holiday guests.

    • 6

Create an easy Christmas centerpiece with one large pillar candle in the center of a gold, white, red or silver plate. Surround the candle with small Christmas tree ornaments.

    • 7

Fill a large hurricane vase with cranberries or red and white peppermint candies. Place a single candle taper inside for a whimsical Christmas light.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure all candles are placed away from drapes, faux greenery or anything else that may catch on fire. Also, make sure they are not in a place easily accessible by small children.
