How to Never Lose Your Keys

You are running out the door, maybe a little late and spend the last five minutes of your time at home dashing about looking for your keys. Many of us have the best of intentions when it comes to keeping track of our keys, but do not know how to break the cycle of misplacing them. Try these things so you'll never lose your keys again.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Make extra copies of your keys. It is always a good thing to have at least one back up set, just in case.
Step2
Trace your steps. Figure out what door you come into and leave from the most. This will help you decide where you might have left them and where you might want to always put your keys for ease and accessibility.
Step3
Identify where you dump your things when you come in each time. Some people have a catch-all right by the door, some use their kitchen table or counter while others have a hook near the door to hang their things on.
Step4
Decide on a home for your keys. For example, if you have a small table or entryway seat, use a decorative basket for the key's home, or hang a small set of hooks near the doorway you use the most.
Step5
Tell everyone you live with where the keys should always be. Many times lost items are picked up by others trying to clean up or do chores.
Step6
Deliver the keys to their home. Every time you step into the house make it a point to stop, think about putting the keys in their new and only place, and do it.
