Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Microsoft Word software

Using Autoshape

Step1
Add AutoShapes. These are simple images and icons such as stars, moons and arrows. They can easily be added to a document because they're drawn for you.
Step2
Choose "Insert," then "Picture" and then "AutoShapes" from the menu bar. The AutoShapes toolbar will appear.
Step3
Select from the drop-down menu of shapes. Draw the shape by dragging the cursor over the spot where you want it. The size of the shape is determined by the size of the area that you drag the cursor over.

Adding WordArt

Step1
Insert WordArt. From the menu bar, choose "Insert," then "Picture" and then "WordArt." The Gallery dialog box will appear, showing WordArt you can create. WordArt is a fun way to jazz up a Word document.
Step2
Select a style for your WordArt from the gallery options and click "OK."
Step3
Type the word you want styled in WordArt.
Step4
Edit your WordArt by clicking the "Edit Text" button to change the text, font, size and other options. Click "OK."

Scribble in Word

Step1
Click the "Drawing" button on the toolbar to add a drawing.
Step2
Create a simple drawing using the tools on the toolbar. These include lines, arrows, squares and circles. Other controls determine color, line width and three-dimensional effects.
Step3
Remove the Drawing toolbar to free up space. When you're done with the drawing, it behaves like any Word graphic.
