Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Put it in a safe place. If the Wii is dropped or if it falls from a high shelf that wasn't properly secured, it will likely break.
Step2
Consider not storing the Wii on its side when hooked to your television. It wouldn't take much for it to tip and fall over and be damaged.
Step3
Avoid crowding the Wii into an entertainment center already crowded with electronics. Like most video game consoles, the Wii needs proper ventilation so it doesn't overheat and stop working.
Step4
Think about the sensor bar. This is what the wireless controllers are actually looking for as you move throughout your living room, waving your controllers at the TV. The sensor should be placed in an area where it won't slip or slide and be damaged. On top of your television may not be the safest place, depending on the shape of your TV.
Step5
Place it into its box. For long-term storage, the safest place is the original box it came in, or a similar box. If you want, you can also get a pro-gamer's plastic case built specially for the Wii so it stays safe during transport or if stored for a long time. Make sure you store it in cool and dry place so the electronic parts aren't damaged by heat or moisture.
