If you have ever dreamed of being an Alaskan fisherman then you're not alone. Many people have thought of dropping everything in their lives to work in the great outdoors. Follow these steps to see how you can become an Alaskan fisherman.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Pack all personal belongings into a moving van and hit the road. Alaska is a long trip from any of the lower 48 states. If coming from Hawaii you must load belongings into a plane and hit the tarmac.
Step2
Locate the prime destination for your new home where you can become an Alaskan fisherman. Remember, location near the water or ice is key. It makes for an easy commute to work each day.
Step3
Shop for fishing supplies at the local stores in Alaska. The sales associates will be able to help with finding the right fishing pole, bait and a comfortable chair to sit in while fishing. Don't forget a warm winter coat. It gets mighty cold in Alaska.
Step4
Make a thermos of steaming coffee or hot cocoa. Bring lunch and plenty of snacks because you may be outside for awhile. Everyone knows that an Alaskan fisherman needs to eat to keep up his strength.
Step5
Load up your gear and head toward the ice. Remember to bring your warm coat, poles, bait, pocket knife, cozy chair and warm thermos.
Step6
Place bait on the hook that is attached to the fishing pole. Lower the bait and hook into the water and sit and wait for a bite. If you notice a tug on your line, don't panic. This may be the sign of a really good catch. Carefully reel the fish out of the water.
Step7
Say "cheese" when you're having your picture taken with your first catch as an Alaskan fisherman. Send copies to all your friends for their enjoyment.
