How to Use Eudora Email

Eudora is one of many email programs available for Internet users. Features of this program include having your own music alert you to new mail and improved spam and scam watches. Follow these simple guidelines to help you get started using Eudora Email.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Microsoft Windows 98 or higher
  • Macintosh OS X (v10.1 or higher)
  • Latest version of Outlook, Outlook Express or Netscape
  • Eudora
  1. Step 1

    Install Eudora on your computer once you have verified that your computer meets the installation requirements.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the desktop icon to open Eudora. Follow the on screen prompts to establish your Eudora email account. If you already have an email account, log in with your user name and password.

  3. Step 3

    Get your email settings from your Internet Service Provider (ISP), including your POP (mail server) and your SMTP (outgoing mail server) so you can begin using Eudora email.

  4. Step 4

    Go to "Tools" in the Menu bar and select "Options."

  5. Step 5

    Enter your name in the "Real Name" field the way you want it to appear when someone receives email from you (i.e., Mary Smith). Add your email address in the "Return Address" field (i.e., marysmith@eudoramail.com).

  6. Step 6

    Create your POP in the "Mail Server (Incoming)" field (i.e., pop-server.eudoramail.com) then add your login name.

  7. Step 7

    Input your SMTP in the "SMTP Server (Outgoing)" field (i.e., smtp-server.eudoramail.com).

  8. Step 8

    Perform a test run by sending an email.

Tips & Warnings
  • Eudora can run on one of three operating modes: paid, sponsored or light.
  • Take advantage of technical support that is available either via a toll-free number or online.
