How to Make a Wedding Guest Book at Home

We all know that weddings are an expensive proposition. Most brides and grooms today are looking for ways to cut the costs of their big day. A simple way to do that is to look for items you can make inexpensively at home. A guest book is one of those ways, plus it's a way to give your wedding another personal touch that you and your spouse will appreciate for years to come.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 yard of stain fabric
  • Small, green silk ivy leaves
  • 1 inch wire-edged ribbon
  • 2 chip boards, 5 1/2 inches by 7 inches
  • White bow corners
  • Lace with pearls
  • Purple roses
  • Lavender roses
  • Poly-fil
  • 1/8 inch silver-wired ribbon
  • Tulle
  • Pearl strands
  • 1/4 inch satin ribbon
  • Masking tape
  • Pinking shears
  • 6 1/2 by 8 inch guest book
  • Scissors
  • Wire
  1. Step 1

    Take the poly-fil and fit it to the guest book. Then cut out the poly-fil.

  2. Step 2

    Cut the satin 1/2 inch larger than your guest book.

  3. Step 3

    Put the guest book on the cut poly-fil and fabric.

  4. Step 4

    Adhere the fabric to the inside of the book. You might want to hold the fabric in place until the glue dries.

  5. Step 5

    Take the chip board and cover it with satin fabric.

  6. Step 6

    Using the pinking shears, cut 2 pieces of satin ribbon 12 inches long. Adhere it to the center of the inside of the front cover and back covers.

  7. Step 7

    Adhere your newly covered chip boards to the inside of the front and back covers.

  8. Step 8

    Take your bow corners and adhere them to the upper-left and bottom-right sides of the book.

  9. Step 9

    Place the pearls that you cut off of your pearl strands on the lace corners.

  10. Step 10

    Using 1 inch of the sheer ribbon, tulle and silver ribbon make a bow and adhere it to the book.

  11. Step 11

    Adhere roses to the bow and place the ivy leaves around the flowers.
