Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create a heading with your name, address and other contact information. Choose a font that is professional and easy to read. Make your name a good deal larger than the rest of the resume.

  2. Step 2

List relevant past work experience starting with the most recent job. Underneath each job title, list the location, years worked and accomplishments, especially those with concrete evidence of your contributions as an employee.

  3. Step 3

Write your education experiences after your work experience. Include years attended and any degrees garnered.

  4. Step 4

Keep your resume to exactly one page in length. If you have room include a personal statement or record of qualifications for the specific job you are applying.

  5. Step 5

Supply the potential employer with letters of recommendation and current contact information from your past employers. Solid references and recommendations can put your resume above other applicants.

  • Career objectives have fallen out of favor in recent years, but you may still include one after your heading.
  • Don't exaggerate or lie on your resume. You don't want to risk loosing a good job because of unethical conduct.
