How to Interview for a Telemarketing Job
You love talking on the phone and you think a telemarketing job doing just that is right up your alley. That job can be yours if you keep a few simple things in mind during the interview and if you have the voice for the job. Here is how to interview successfully for a telemarketing job.

1
Dress the part when you interview. You may think that since your customers don't actually see you that it doesn't matter what you're wearing, but it does. When you're talking on the phone in loungewear, you speak differently to the person on the other end of the line then when you're wearing business attire. Your potential customers can tell the difference, and the potential employer will want to see that you can dress the part.

2
Exercise your voice before the interview. As strange as it may sound, doing voice strengthening exercises can help the tone and quality of your speaking voice. Be sure to practice lots of vowel sounds as well as the letter "S" and letter "T." The sharper consonants can get you tongue-tied.

3
Schedule more than one telemarketing interview. Having more than one job to choose from is the best scenario, but you won't have that option unless you attend more than one interview.
-
4
Rest your voice. The night before the interview, stay home and drink some herbal tea. Being out at concert the night before is not a good idea.
-
5
Remain confident. Let your potential employer know that you are an asset that they would welcome in their company. With your voice and confidence, not only will you win them over, but you'll win over their potential customers over as well.
