With all of the companies with research and development departments, you would think that it would be easy to find an R&D job. However, many people have a difficult time finding jobs in this field simply because they do not know who to turn to to get help finding a research and development job. Follow these steps to find job search help.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Access your college's or university's career services. This is your first resource for job leads in the research and development field. Most higher learning institutions offer job placement services for their students. If you are still in school, or if you are about to graduate, now is the time to utilize this free help.
Step2
Look for local employment agencies that specialize in technical or scientific career placements. You can find listings for these agencies in your local yellowpages.
Step3
Select a virtual helper to help you get a research and development job. There are a lot of online employment services that either exclusively focus on R&D positions or that offer R&D job listing categories. Some of you options include "Monster.com" and "ScienceCareers.org."
Step4
Network with your personal contacts to get help finding a research and develop job. Your family members, friends and colleagues are all great resources for finding a job. Ask these contacts if their company is looking for research and development personnel, or if they can set up an interview for you.
Step5
Ask a friend to help you search the Internet and local print sources for research and development jobs. By having more people dedicated to the search for an R&D job, you can improve your chances of finding the right job for you. Remember when you are searching online to not only focus on job search sites, but to also explore websites of companies that you would like to work for. For example, the EPA's website has R&D job listings, as does Yale University's website.
