A suncatcher is a decorative ornament that hangs in a window and captures sunlight. The light shines through the suncatcher and creates a pleasing, colorful glow in the room. Most are made of glass, but you can make your own suncatcher with tissue paper.
Secure two sheets of contact paper together with a paper clip. Then cut a shape of your choice through both pieces to create the base for your suncatcher.
2
Peel the backing off one of the cut pieces of contact paper and place it on your work surface, sticky side up.
3
Cut or tear pieces of colored tissue paper into roughly 1-by-1 inch pieces and place them all over the sticky surface to decorate. Be sure to cut some pieces carefully to use along the edges of the suncatcher.
4
Remove the backing from the second piece of contact paper and stick it carefully on top of the decorated piece.
5
Punch a hole in the top of the suncatcher about ½ inch from the edge. Thread through a ribbon to hang up the suncatcher.
Tips & Warnings
Use a suction cup to hang the suncatcher in a window, or hang it from a hook in the ceiling in front of a window.
