  1. Step 1

Buy a movie book or guide from your local bookstore or an online retail store. There are a large variety of books available for purchase that compile movie reviews, listings and synopses in a historical context. These books are excellent resources for finding movies to watch and are organized by themes, actors or directors or critical acclaim.

  2. Step 2

Read the movie guide you have purchased thoroughly. Depending on how comprehensive the book is, you can check the index for any listings about race or interracial themes or read the plot summaries that are provided to see if any of the films explore these topics.

  3. Step 3

Ask friends for recommendations of their favorite movies with interracial themes. It's difficult to keep up with the hundreds of movies that are released each year, especially those that are released by independent studios and do not receive as much marketing or editorial attention. It's likely that your friends know about some movies that you may have missed and can steer you in the right direction.

  4. Step 4

Watch a variety of films. Interracial themes are explored in all genres of film making, from drama to comedy, horror or science fiction. Don't restrict yourself to only one type of movie, as a comedy you are not expecting to have much depth may have quite a bit to say about racial relations. Conversely, a serious drama could poke fun at interracial differences.

  5. Step 5

Purchase your favorite movies and begin a collection based around interracial themes. It is much more cost effective to purchase DVDs than to rent them, and owning them will allow you to watch them repeatedly and share them with other people in your life. Furthermore, movies often require many viewings to fully understand their intents and take in all of their details.
