Resident Evil 4 is another in a long line of terrific survival horror games available from Capcom. You are once again tasked with defeating hordes of zombies while preventing the world from falling apart at the hands of the evil Umbrella Corporation. Making your way through Resident Evil 4 unscathed takes practice, but with some patience you can master the game and save the world.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Resident Evil 4
  • Nintendo Wii
  1. Step 1

Save ammo where you can. While enemies will often drop ammunition when they are killed, it is still possible to run low or run out at the worst possible time. Aim for the head, and use the most effective weapons against the enemies most susceptible to that specific type of damage.

  2. Step 2

Master using melee attacks on Wii to knock enemies down, then slash at them with your knife. This will get the job done without you having to worry about counterattacks.

  3. Step 3

Carry only what you need when you move from area to area. You have limited inventory space, so choose what you bring carefully.

  4. Step 4

Find the best tactical positions you can throughout the game. If you can stand on the other side of a doorway, enemies can only filter in through a single point, making it easier to remove their advantage of numbers from the equation.

  5. Step 5

Place Ashley in "Wait" mode as much as possible. This prevents the danger that she'll be injured or killed as you progress further and clear a path towards the end of the chapter.

  6. Step 6

Mix herbs as frequently as possible to prevent them from taking up too much inventory space. You're going to want to save room for ammunition and weapons as you progress.

  7. Step 7

Purchase the official Resident Evil 4 Prima Official Game Guide, by Stephen Stratton, to fully master the game on the Wii (see Resources below). The guide will show you all the tricks and secrets of the game.

Tips & Warnings
  • Proceed through the game slowly and deliberately so as to not miss secrets along the way. Side passages and hidden equipment stashes make the game easier and more rewarding with new gear or guns to tote along.
  • Many elements of Resident Evil 4 could be considered too mature for younger players. It is therefore really only recommended for those over 17. In fact, the game is rated "M" for mature, and is not sold to minors at all.
