Pokemon: Ruby marked the beginning of the third generation of Pokemon games for for the Game Boy. As you explore the world of the game, you'll collect Pokemon, battle foes and eventually become a Pokemon master. Like the other entries in the Game Boy series, Pokemon: Ruby allows players to use cheats to help you on your journey.

Instructions

Get Special Berries from the Berry Master's Wife

Step 1

Locate the Berry Master's wife and input specific phrases to receive berries.
Step 2

Input SUPER HUSTLE to receive a Belue Berry.
Step 3

Input COOL LATIOS to get yourself a Durin Berry.
Step 4

Input CHALLENGE CONTEST to get a Pamtre Berry.
Step 5

Enter GREAT BATTLE to receive a Spelon Berry.
Step 6

Input OVERWHELMING LATIAS and you will receive a Watmel Berry.

Use Cheats to Unlock Mystery Events

Step 1

Beat the Elite Four.
Step 2

Visit Petalburg City.
Step 3

Find the man located by the computer.
Step 4

Start a conversation with him. He'll request your profile.
Step 5

Enter the phrase "MYSTERY EVENT IS EXCITED" when prompted to speak.
Step 6

End your conversation and leave the man.
Step 7

Save your current game.
Step 8

Flip your Game Boy Advance off and then back on again.
Step 9

Receive your Mystery Event.

Find Special Pokemon

Step 1

Visit Sootopolis City and search the Cave of Origin. There, you'll be able to find the Groudon.
Step 2

Beat the Elite Four to receive a Latios.
Step 3

Search the Southern Island for other Latias. They're just waiting to be caught.
Step 4

Use your surfboard to travel east of Pacifidlog Town. Find the tower and travel to the top using your March Bike. There, you'll find the Rayquaza.

Use Cheats to Get a Master Ball

Step 1

Go to Team Aqua/Magma's hideout.
Step 2

Enter the room by using teleport pads. It might take a few tries, but you'll eventually find one that will lead you to the office.
Step 3

Find the four balls.
Step 4

Select the balls to the left. The ones on the right are actually electrodes.
Step 5

Collect your Master Ball along with a golden nugget. It won't be possible to get a Master Ball later in the game.

Get Unlimited Time to Hunt in the Safari Zone

Step 1

Enter the Safari Zone.
Step 2

Climb onto your Acro Bike and hop in place.
Step 3

Hunt for passing Pokemon without taking any steps that will count against your time.
