How to Delete LimeWire
Once you've downloaded all the music and movie files you need, you may decide to delete LimeWire from your computer's hard drive. Deleting an application is slightly more involved than just deleting the application icon from your desktop. There are several key steps that need to be followed to make sure that all ancillary files are removed too.

Open the "Start" menu.

Select the "Add or Remove Programs" option.

Open the list of "Currently Installed Programs."

Locate the LimeWire icon within the "Currently Installed Programs" list. It's possible that LimeWire can't be located on this list. If that's the case, try searching through your software documentation files.

Click on the "Start" menu.

Select the "My Computer" icon.

Open the drive to which your file-sharing program was installed.

Open the folder named "Program Files" by double-clicking it.

Right-click the program's folder.

Confirm your choice by clicking "Yes."

Close the "My Computer" window to return to your desktop.
Delete LimeWire From a Macintosh Computer

Perform a search of your computer for all program folders, files and documents related to LimeWire. You can either click "File" and "Find" from the drop-down menu or use the hot-key combination of "Command" and "F."

Type "LimeWire" into the search field beside the magnifying glass icon. This will return a list of everything on your computer that has "LimeWire" in its title.

Move each item to the "Garbage" icon in your programs dock. Use the "drag and drop" feature.

Move items in a group by holding "Command" while clicking. This will highlight multiple selections. Make sure not to let your finger off the "Command" key until you've deposited each item in the trash.

Click on your "Trash" icon and hold the button down. A menu screen will pop up, offering you several command options.

Select "Empty Trash" from the bottom of the list.

Perform another search of your computer files for "LimeWire." This will make sure that every file has been moved to the trash.

Tips & Warnings
If you receive error messages while trying to delete LimeWire, make sure that the program is not still in operation. On Windows machines, click "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" at the same time to open the "Task Manager." Select the "Applications" and "End Task" buttons to force the program to quit.

go to the task manager, then go to processes, find limewire and end the process. you should then be able to delete any limewire folders and files. -

sorry to most of us this is not helpful, we can all do this what we want to know please. if you uninstall limewire. Then reinstall it 6 months later The application has remembered your settings from 6 months ago its not a fresh install. When you uninstall limewire it leaves something hidden somewhere that remembers all the options you set even your proxy details. How do you find where this is being remembered. If you go into reg edit type limewire under registry lots of files are left behind its a good half hours work even delete these and the program still remembers your settings on new install how dose it do this please. Its got me so mad that i formatted my hard drive twice. What we want to know how do you get limewire and frostwire completely out your system lock stock and barrel if you never used it you will never understand what us users mean.
