How to Unzip LimeWire Files
One of the ways LimeWire users trade larger media files is by "zipping" them. This is a process through which files can be compressed, reducing their size and making them easier to upload and download. After downloading a zipped music or movie file, you'll need to "unzip" it before it can be transferred to your media player.

Tips & Warnings
Many programs used to unzip files will automatically launch when you attempt to open a zipped file. This is known as a "self-extracting" program. To find out whether you can unzip files in this manner, just double-click your zipped file. If the file fails to open, you may have to unzip it manually.
