How to Use a Hood in Bondage Play

Hoods have many uses in bondage play, including sensory deprivation, objectification and depersonalization. Cutting off hearing or vision and possibly breathing disorients the submissive, making play more exciting for both partners. Complement your bondage scene by adding hoods or gags.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use a spandex hood for a constricting sensation without depriving light or air. It stretches to cover your submissive's head tightly, but allows light to come through. You can use one with a blindfold to restrict vision.

  2. Step 2

Use an open-faced hood when you want to play without obstructing breathing. A ponygirl hood has an opening in the front that frames the face. There may be an opening at the top for letting the wearer's hair out for use in hair bondage or hair pulling.

  3. Step 3

Wear a hood or mask to a play party when you want to conceal your identity. Not everybody is ready to go public about his or her bondage fetish, but some people would still like to play in public. Use a hood with the eyes, nostrils and mouth cut out so you have freedom to breathe and see, yet still disguise who you are.

  4. Step 4

Play with a mouth dildo or gag to enhance the bondage hood experience. Use a hood with an open mouth hole to insert the dildo or gag into your submissive's mouth or gag her at will. Be sure her nostrils are clear for breathing. You could also force air through nostril tubes to facilitate breathing.

  5. Step 5

Heighten the rest of your senses with a bondage play hood. Spandex feels tight and silky smooth, while leather can muffle any sound you make, increasing your suspense. Inflatable latex adds extra pressure, while a head harness with straps allows your dominatrix to control you further, raising your awareness of what is going on around you.

  6. Step 6

Add earmuffs, earplugs or headphones to further intensify the sensory deprivation experience. Some hoods have earmuffs already built in. Play music or white noise in the earphones to block outside sounds.

  7. Step 7

Place a hood on your submissive if you are a dominant who is new to mummification, rather than engaging in full head bondage. It makes your job easier because it takes some practice to become skilled at mummifying somebody.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never leave your submissive alone when he is wearing a hood. If anything goes wrong asphyxiation can result rather quickly, and your submissive will have no way to get out.

on 1/6/2009 Bondage Hoods are indeed a very sensual part of play. Sensory Deprivation can take the mind to new heights and subject the users to a total state of Euphoria. Great great fun but like the author writes they can be dangerous if used improperly. If your new to the hood fetish you should ALWAYS do the following with every new hood you purchase.
1. Look the hood over before putting it on
2. Get familiar with cinches, buckles, and locks
3. DO NOT tie up or lock the hood on first use!
4. If possible have supervision for the 1st few times
5. RELAX, Make sure you can control your body and mind.
6. Share your experience with others. Knowledge is power :)

You can buy some great leather bondage hoods at WWW.NORTHEASTRESTRAINTS.COM

Way cheaper than the big dealers with the same quality if not better.

As they say:
