How to Play Shocking Laser Tag
Take your game of laser tag to the next level when you play shocking laser tag. For paintball enthusiasts who miss the pain involved in taking a hit, shocking laser tag satisfies tagger and victim alike. Feel the true accomplishment of accurate shooting as your opponent receives a teeth-clenching jolt when hit, or get a charge out of your own tactical errors and learn from them, the hard way!
Things You'll Need
- Delineated area of play
- Shock laser guns and breastplate OR
- Knowledge of general laser tag rules
- Shock laser gun/remote-controlled tank sets
Instructions
-
Zap a Target
-
1
Adjust and test the equipment. Put on the breastplate and make sure the sensors are working when activated at close range with the "laser" gun.
-
2
Start play by moving from your home base at an agreed signal, with your gun drawn.
-
-
3
Hunt your opponent. Fire only when you can see the breastplate sensor or you will waste a shot and lose points and battery power.
-
4
Cringe when you get tagged, then shake it off. The sting will fade right away.
-
5
Win by having the most points when time is called, or better luck next time!
Zap a Tank
-
6
Adjust the stun setting for "Wimp" or "Tough Guy."
-
7
Use your controller to start moving your tank at the "Go" signal.
-
8
Maneuver your tank with your controller to an agreed base while you attempt to avoid fire from your opponent. The taggers and sensors are on the tanks.
-
9
Tag a tank and watch your opponent's face for evidence of brief but painful shock. The electrical charge is received from the gun handle.
-
10
Get zapped when your opponent hits your tank with her tank's gun. Don't drop your controller in shock!
-
11
Win by not quitting or by having the most points (least hits) when time is up.

Tips & Warnings
You won't be zapped by a real laser. These toys work the same as regular laser taggers, with an infrared light beam, like the one in a TV controller. The shocking stimulator is activated separately and is not a threat to a healthy player.
Shorter, more intense games are better offensively (and more fun!) than longer games that become more focused on avoiding a good shocking. Set the time limit in advance.
Yes, kids, these toys may interfere with Grandpa's pacemaker, seriously.
Use according to game directions, rather than trying to see what else you can shock with your gun handle besides yourself.
These games may use up a lot of AA or AAA batteries. Most units aren't rechargeable.
