It is relatively easy to build a downline in your multilevel marketing (MLM) business. The key is aligning yourself with a reliable company and remaining consistent with your promotions. It also helps to learn from others who are successful. Therefore, you should tap into your MLM company's training program. Other networker marketers, such as your upline or sponsor, can teach you how to present the business opportunity and handle common objections from prospects. Take lots of notes so you can pass information along to people you recruit into the business.

Order mailing lists if you plan to mail postcards to people. Purchase phone numbers of MLM enthusiasts or business opportunity seekers if you prefer to cold call prospects, which is more cost effective but can be time consuming.

Create two phone scripts -- one for people who respond to your postcards and the other for cold-calling prospects. Use scripts from your MLM company if they have them available, but learn to tailor them to fit your needs and personality. Include some brief information about the company and products in the script.
