Learn how to set up for a forward or reverse dive.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Walk out to the end of the springboard and turn around.

  2. Step 2

With heels at the end of the board begin to walk forward, remember to walk like you would in every day life. you may move your arms how ever you wish, as long as it flows smoothly.

  3. Step 3

After 3 normal steps take 1 elongated step and drive your trailing leg up. keep your hurdle leg at a 90 degree angle, toes pointed and try to bring it above waist height. As you drive your leg up your arms should swing up over your head as fast as possible.

  4. Step 4

At just about your highest point straighten your leg back out. As you land with your feet about shoulder width apart stop and turn around at that exact spot.

  5. Step 5

Repeat steps 2-4 but twoard the end of the board this time. As you land on the end of the board remember to squat down a little, swing your arms to help push the board down and extend your body as the board begins to throw you back up.
