How to Fix a Slow Gas Pump

Have you ever been stuck at a slow gas pump? I'm talking about the kind where you would have to stand there for an hour for a full fill. Here's your solution.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Gas pump
  • Lack of patience
  1. Step 1

    Stop pumping.

  2. Step 2

    Lay the pump down on the ground.

  3. Step 3

    Wait at least 5 seconds.

  4. Step 4

    Pick the pump up and continue pumping at full speed!

Tips & Warnings
  • It's really that simple. I haven't heard of this failing. Let me know if it fails you.

on 11/19/2008 I have now seen this fail. I think sometimes, if fuel levels in the underground tanks are low, the pumps will be slow no matter what. This method fixes any air bubble problems. Still worth a shot!
