How to Teach Novel Writing

Many times people begin to write a novel and write a large amount of information before they realize it should be organized first. If you want to write a novel it's not as hard as you might think.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A notebook and a pen

Step1
Create a notebook and brainstorm. Write anything that might jump into your mind.
Step2
Think of as many words a to describe a landscape outside. Use a variety of different adjectives.
Step3
Create a beginning, middle, and an end for the story. This is called a plot.
Step4
Draw pictures to help you visualize the story.
Step5
Create a mini biography of each character in your story and begin with a name.
Step6
Add dialogue that corresponds with how each character might speak.
Step7
Figure out if you will see the story through your eyes or someone else’s and beginning writing in their voice. Play with it and add an accent if you like.
Step8
Decide if you will add twists and turns to the story and how many.
