Things You'll Need:
- Frosted beer mugs
- A Few Chilled Beers
-
Step 1
Mmm...Frosty...Soak your beer mugs in water and put them directly into the freezer without rinsing them off at least one hour before you intend to serve your beer. This will allow them to frost over very nicely.
-
Step 2
Take one of the beers out of the refrigerator and open it. Allow it to sit for 20 or 30 seconds before pouring it. This will allow the carbonation to flow out of the beer and reduce the amount of foam or "head" that can occur when pouring.
-
Step 3
Hold your mug or glass at an angle somewhere between 50 and 55 degrees from the floor. Touch the lip of the beer can or bottle to the lip of the glass and lift from the bottom, pivoting at the wrist. Once the bottle or can gets to around 35 degrees in the opposite direction the beer will begin to flow. (You didn't know geometry affected getting a buzz, did you?) Lower the bottom of the mug as you raise the bottom of the beer.
-
Step 4
Slowly pour the beer into the mug. Keep an eye on the head and watch for how quickly it builds up. The faster the beer pours the thicker the head will be. If you get too much head on a poured beer then you will have to wait longer to poor the whole drink.
-
Step 5
Let the beer rest in the glass for a 15 or 20 seconds after you pour it. This will let the rest of the head fizz away. Besides, who really wants a beer mustache? Drink and enjoy.

on 10/17/2007 Now this is the way to serve a beer. This method makes the low quality beers taste mighty fine. Kudos!
