Sauna (not the steam room) rids your body of toxins and helps to improve overall circulation.

Some skin benefits include...

Acne reduction
Smoothing wrinkles
Softening skin
Cellulite reduction

From Quick Guide: Sauna Basics
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 towels - one for sauna & one for shower
  • drinking water
  • reading material
  • 10 - 20 minutes
  • Access to a sauna is also very helpful.
  1. Step 1

    Shower -
Prior to sauna make sure to shower and wash off all lotions and body care products.

  2. Step 2

    Sauna -
Nudity is proper sauna etiquette. You may wrap your sauna towel around you while taking sauna for modesty.

For your first time, 5 - 10 minutes maximum is recommended. You may build up to 20 mins.

  3. Step 3

    Post Sauna -
After leaving the sauna, sit out prior to shower for about 10 minutes to let your body cool down and finish its toxin removal.

  4. Step 4

    Post Sauna Shower -
After you've taken your sauna and cooled down, its time to rinse off. Because you have already showered and taken sauna, it is not necessary or recommended to use soap or lotion. This allows your skin to complete the toxin removal and you'll find that your skin will be quite supple and lotions will not be necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have built up to 20 minutes in the sauna and feel you would like more time; once you've completed 20 mins, sit outside sauna for 10 mins and then proceed to sauna again for another 20 mins.
  • Make sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after sauna!
  • Saunas are generally contraindicated for people with heart disease, high blood pressure and circulation problems. Please consult your physician or health expert before trying this or any activity.
  • If you are feeling light headed or ill while in sauna, leave IMMEDIATELY!!!
  • Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water!
